The Scientific Conference at the Second Faculty of Medicine is Drawing Dangerously Close!

The scientific and social event of the faculty’s year will take place on 22 and 23 April 2020 in the Great Lecture Hall. Abstract submissions will be accepted from 31 January until 28 February. The organisers Prof. Jan Trka and doc. Štěpánka Průhová invite you to join the conference.

With the new year comes the time for our annual faculty Scientific Conference – which this year will be held on 22 and 23 April, in the Great Lecture Hall and surrounding spaces. As always, the conference will cover the most important scientific (and along with the Faculty Night) and social event at our faculty, and we hope that you are looking forward to participating. Participation in the conference, in conjunction with Dean’s Provision 15/2019, is mandatory for all students in the doctoral studies program from the third year – if they had not presented their findings in the previous year – and is a part of their study plan. However, we also welcome presentations from all employees and both undergraduate and postgraduate students of all years.

As usual, presentations are to be in the form of lectures and posters, but this year we are adding a new form – oral mini-presentations of posters. More active participants will get the chance to present their scientific research orally, in a condensed form, and attract more interested attendees to their posters.

Abstracts will be accepted from 31 January until 28 February through the following link:

All abstracts will undergo a strict evaluation by the scientific board, under the leadership of Prof. Jan Zuna. The form in which your submission was accepted (presentation, poster, mini-presentation and poster) will be publicised on 31 March and before the first spring full moon, you will be informed of the day and exact time of your presentation.

Part of the conference will as always be presentations from select speakers from our faculty and from around the world, workshops, and cultural and social events. Details will be announced over the next few months on the web page dedicated to the conference, and the final program will be released on 10 of April.

We look forward to your participation in the Scientific Conference of the Second Faculty of Medicine 2020!
